It was recently reported that Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s fantasy thriller The Vvaan was postponed from its August 28, 2026, release to avoid a box office clash with Yash and Kiara Advani’s long-delayed Toxic. Now, another Bollywood film is reportedly set to follow suit.
Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha, which was originally scheduled to release on August 28, 2026, is likely to get a new release date. According to reports, Maddock Films is considering either preponing or postponing the film to avoid clashing with Toxic, as the two big releases could face screen-sharing issues and affect each other’s box office collections. An official announcement regarding Eetha’s release date is expected in the coming days.
Directed by Laxman Utekar (of Chhaava fame), Eetha is based on the life of legendary Marathi Tamasha artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar. The film also stars Randeep Hooda and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub in pivotal roles.
Apart from the release date uncertainty, Eetha is also facing a title controversy, with members of the NCP and Vithabai Narayangaonkar’s family reportedly seeking a change to the film’s title.
