Akhil Akkineni will next be seen in the rural entertainer Lenin. The film is directed by Murali Kishore Abburu of Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha fame. Recently, the makers announced that the film would hit the big screens in Summer 2026. Bhagyasri Borse plays the female lead.
Today, the team kick-started the musical promotions by releasing the first single, VaareVaa VaareVaa. The melody, composed by SS Thaman, showcases a sweet and innocent village romance between the lead pair. Thaman’s tune is soothing, while the rendition by Shweta Mohan and Jubin Nautiyal adds to the song’s charm. The lyrics are penned by Ananth Sriram.
Along with the first single, the makers also revealed that the film will release in theatres on May 1, 2026. Shivaji plays a pivotal role. Naga Vamsi and King Nagarjuna are producing the film under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Annapurna Studios, respectively. Reportedly, Lenin revolves around the sensitive issue of honour killings.
