Karan Johar always makes headlines for some reason or the other. This time, news has come out that Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Limited is all set to buy a stake in Dharma Productions.
This is happening due to the decline in profits of Dharma Productions in the last few years. Though the production house makes good money, the percentage of profit has dropped close to 50% as per the latest report.
Dharma Production makes a lot of money through distribution and pre and post-release business. Their latest production, Jigra featuring Alia Bhatt ended as a massive flop leaving Johar’s company in massive losses.
While all this is happening, a partnership with Reliance will help Karan Johar in expanding distribution networks and diversified revenue streams. Let’s see what happens.
