Annapurna Studios is making steady progress in the film distribution space, expanding its reach with a selection of films across different languages for Telugu audiences.
The studio has been actively growing its distribution slate with a mix of content-driven films. Its recent portfolio includes Malayalam titles such as Eko and Balan: The Boy, while Suriya’s Tamil film Karuppu, released in Telugu as Veerabhadrudu, and Akkineni Akhil’s Lenin are also part of its distribution journey.
For September, Annapurna Studios has lined up Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game, Karthi’s Sardar 2 and EPIC – First Semester. The studio is also associated with Ramba Oorvasi Menaka, handling both its production and distribution.
Supriya Yarlagadda, Executive Director – Annapurna Studios, said, “Telugu audiences have always been passionate film lovers and have celebrated great cinema irrespective of language. For us, cinema has no linguistic barriers when the content connects with the audience. Through our distribution initiative, we want to bring films that we genuinely believe deserve to be experienced on the big screen to audiences across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, while building a transparent and sustainable distribution ecosystem.”
With its growing distribution network, Annapurna Studios is working towards a broader vision of bringing back the commission-based distribution model. The initiative aims to provide better theatrical opportunities for films driven by strong stories while creating a more transparent and sustainable distribution ecosystem.
