Arasan: Dhanush not part of Vetrimaaran and Simbu’s film

Star Tamil director Vetrimaaran is currently working on the gangster action drama Arasan. The film, headlined by Simbu, belongs to the Vada Chennai Universe. Vijay Sethupathi plays the antagonist in this much-anticipated flick.

Since Arasan is set within the Vada Chennai Universe, fans and movie buffs expected that Dhanush might play a cameo. However, producer Kalaipuli Thanu has clarified that Dhanush won’t be a part of Simbu starrer.

He said, “Arasan’s story takes place in a parallel timeline, while Dhanush’s character is in jail in Vada Chennai. Vijay Sethupathi has joined the shoot. There are absolutely no issues with Simbu. He is coming on time to the sets and cooperating well.”

The announcement glimpse itself sparked massive excitement among the audience. Arasan will be released in Telugu as Saamrajyam. There is no confirmation yet about the female lead. Andre Jeremiah will be seen in a vital role.
