Chola’s significance explained by Ponniyin Selvan’s team

Maniratnam’s dream project Ponniyan Selvan has already drawn the attention of the audience towards it with the character posters, and teaser. The film is slated for a grand release on September 30th worldwide in multiple languages.

Recently the team has unleashed a video that signifies the glory of Cholas and their dynasty. The video was about when the Cholas started their empire and how they expanded it, their water management, infrastructure, and their art, and culture, and why the Cholas period is called the golden era of Tamils.

According to historian Rama Chandra, writer Rama Krishna and history Researcher Jaya Kumar, Vijayalayan Chola made Tanjore their capital and ruled. And during Raja Raja Chola’s period, it became an empire and his son Rajendra Chola expanded it by invading up to South Asia.

According to them, Chola’s temples, paintings, and sculptures were ever-lasting and adorable. Their Water management system should be appreciated and the veeranam lake constructed by them is supplying water to Chennai citizens even now.

Bankrolled jointly by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, the film has Vikram, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and several other actors in crucial roles and it has music by Oscar award winner A.R.Rahman.
