Nandamuri Kalyanram’s Devil is slated for a grand release this Friday. Naveen Medaram was initially the director of the project, but the team showed him the door midway. In an interview, the film’s producer, Abhishek Nama, revealed why the director was removed.
Abhishek Nama said, “Why will we do it intentionally? The situations made us take such a decision. Previously, Naveen directed my film Babu Baga Busy (the Telugu remake of the Hindi film Hunterrr) and Sin on Aha. But when it comes to Devil, the scenario is entirely different. It t is a big project with a huge canvas and star cast. We felt he couldn’t handle such a big film, and hence we took that decision.”
Abhishek Nama further said, “It was my decision to have Naveen as the director. But when the movie started rolling, we felt he couldn’t do justice. We told him that he was not the correct person and asked him to exit. But Naveen kept saying that he could handle things. I took charge from the very beginning. I was only deciding what scene should be shot on a particular day.”
