Lenin has emerged as a much-needed hit for Akhil Akkineni, marking his comeback after a long gap. Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, the film features Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead.
In a recent interview, music director Thaman revealed that the makers had initially planned an item song for the film. However, the idea was dropped even before filming began as it did not fit the narrative. He also revealed that the song had circulated widely in internal WhatsApp groups, leaving him upset enough to exit those groups. The team eventually decided to scrap the song, feeling it could invite unnecessary criticism since it wasn’t essential to the story.
The revelation became even more interesting when Thaman disclosed that the makers had considered Rashmika Mandanna, Pooja Hegde, Kayadu Lohar, and Preity Mukhundhan for the song. However, the sequence was ultimately shelved before it went on floors.
According to reports, Lenin is expected to make its OTT debut on ZEE5 next week. An official announcement is awaited. The film is jointly produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni and Naga Vamsi.
