Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who has portrayed several memorable roles in Telugu cinema, has now landed in a controversy. She acted in a small film titled Police Complaint, which is slated for release soon. The film’s director, Sanjeev Megoti, has strongly criticized Varalaxmi for not participating in its promotional activities.
He said, “Varalaxmi Sarathkumar took lakhs in remuneration, but she is reluctant to promote the movie. She dubbed for the first half but left midway to complete her film Saraswathi. She made us suffer for three months without completing the dubbing for the second half. For her, our movie is of little importance. I literally begged Varalaxmi to attend the press meet, but she said it wasn’t possible.”
Sanjeev added, “While shooting, she suffered a hand fracture, due to which I even changed the storyline and supported her throughout the shoot. A big star like Ram Charan and a 94-year-old Singeetham Srinivasa Rao garu are coming forward to promote their films. Varalaxmi is very particular about her remuneration, and I am okay with that. But by not attending the promotions, she is affecting our careers.”
