The box office power of Mohanlal was proven yet again as his crime investigation thriller Drishyam 3 made a historic debut across major languages except Hindi. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the highly anticipated film opened to mixed audience reactions. Despite the divided response, the movie delivered the biggest opening of Mohanlal’s career and reinforced his unmatched stardom.
The release turned into a true “Mohanlal versus Mohanlal” box office battle. On opening day, Drishyam 3 recorded a staggering 587.4K ticket sales on BookMyShow, surpassing the actor’s previous blockbusters, Thudarum with 419K and L2: Empuraan with 381K. The feat not only made it the highest opening day in Mohanlal’s career, but also the highest ever for a Mollywood film on the platform.
