Prominent filmmaker Karan Johar scored a hit last year with the romantic drama Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani. The film stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. After a long gap, Karan Johar wielded the megaphone. The movie had a terrific run in overseas, and especially in North America, the film collected 10 million dollars.

In a recent roundtable the director said he was very much tensed before the film’s release. Karan said, “I thought I would get a cardiac arrest before the release, and I am not lying. Because love stories weren’t faring well during the pandemic. Both Indian and overseas markets were not responding well to such films. My whole body was quivering during the special premiere. People came to me and asked if I was okay.”

Karan Johar continued, “The movie performed way better than our expectations. The origin of this story is from my family. During the pandemic, I used to see a lot of West Delhi Instagram users, and that’s how I designed the Rocky Randhawa character.”
