Mani Ratnam praises the controversial Dorothy and Karthik Subbaraj

Dorothy continues to make headlines, not just for its LGBTQ-themed story and bold scenes, but also for the appreciation it is receiving from noted filmmakers.

Veteran director Mani Ratnam has now praised the film and its director, Karthik Subbaraj. Speaking about the film, Mani Ratnam said Karthik surprised him with his storytelling and execution.

Mani praised the language, narrative style, and the way the sensitive subject was handled on screen. The ace filmmaker also described Dorothy as a progressive film and hailed Karthik as a new-age director who is willing to explore unconventional themes.

Starring Keerthy Suresh, the film has sparked intense debate among audiences. While it is receiving praise from critics and filmmakers, it has yet to be dubbed and released in Telugu.
