It is Shri Rama Navami today, a time when audiences traditionally expect special updates from films based on the epic Ramayana. One such highly anticipated project is Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, mounted on a massive budget of around Rs. 4,000 crore.
Fans were eagerly hoping for a glimpse to mark the occasion, but the makers released an announcement instead, leaving many disappointed.
The statement confirms that no glimpse will be released on Rama Navami. Instead, the first glimpse of Rama will be unveiled on Hanuman Jayanti, April 2, 2026, as announced by producer Namit Malhotra.
The decision did not go down well with fans, who had been looking forward to seeing Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in their roles. However, the team has chosen to build anticipation with a later reveal.
The film also features Yash, Sunny Deol, Vivek Oberoi, and Ravie Dubey in key roles. With music composed by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, and a screenplay by Shridhar Raghavan, the project is envisioned as India’s first film designed for IMAX.
Co-produced by DNEG and Yash, Ramayana: Part 1 is slated for a theatrical release on Diwali 2026. Keep watching this space for more updates.
