A few days back, director Gunasekhar announced an interesting project, Shakuntalam. Ever since the announcement came out, a lot of discussions are going among the film circles on who will be portraying the titular role.
Earlier, news came out that Anushka Shetty will be playing the female lead role in the movie. Since yesterday, news has been circulating that Pooja Hegde has high chances to do the role. However, our authentic sources reveal that Pooja Hegde was never approached for the film and all the news about the film is just baseless speculations.
Gunasekhar’s daughter Neelima Guna will be bankrolling the film. Shakuntalam is said to be based on the epic tale of love from the Adi Parva of the Mahabharata.
