Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo released in January 2020 as a Sankranthi festive treat and ended up being a humongous blockbuster by grossing over Rs 250 crore. The Trivikram directorial was produced jointly by S. Radha Krishna and Allu Aravind. The film’s audio album composed by Thaman was a rage upon its release, and has amassed billions of views on streaming platforms.
Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo made its OTT premiere on Netflix and Sun NXT on February 27, 2020, exactly 49 days since its theatrical release, and continued to enthrall audiences over the years. However, in an unexpected twist, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is set to go off Netflix from February 26.
Apparently, Netflix’s non-exclusive rights over Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo will end on February 26, leaving the movie to exit from the streaming giant. However, the movie will continue to stream on Sun NXT platform. Incidentally, Gemini TV, owned by the Sun Network Pvt Ltd that also owns Sun NXT, has the rights to Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s satellite telecast.
