The blockbuster Telugu franchise Baahubali is back in the spotlight. The team is currently working on Baahubali: The Eternal War, a two-part 3D animated saga slated for release in 2027. Adding to the buzz, Netflix is set to roll out Baahubali: The Torchbearer, a docu-series, on June 26, 2026.
Now, Prabhas has come up with another exciting update for fans. He revealed that Baahubali: The Eternal War was showcased at the Work in Progress sessions of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026. “The team is building something truly special. Can’t wait for the world to see it,” Prabhas shared.
Known as the Cannes of animation, the prestigious festival has picked Baahubali as one of the key projects representing India’s growing storytelling ambitions on the global stage. The selection also gives leading international critics their first look at the film’s visuals.
Directed by Ishan Shukla and backed by Arka Media Works with a budget of Rs. 120 crore, the animated epic takes the franchise in a new direction. The story unfolds after the death of Amarendra Baahubali, who is pulled into a cosmic war between the Devas and the Asuras. Set across 14 mystical realms, it blends Indian mythology with high fantasy on a massive scale.
Adding to the hype, Prabhas and Ramya Krishna return to voice their iconic characters, while the Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravaani scores the music.
