Director Jayant C Paranjee has revealed an interesting casting twist about the classic Telugu film Premante Idera. According to him, Aishwarya Rai was the first choice to play the female lead opposite Venkatesh.
The actress reportedly loved the story and even allotted dates, but due to unexpected last-minute issues, the collaboration could not materialise.
Jayant added that the team then auditioned Ameesha Patel and Raima Sen for the role, exploring several options before finalising the cast.
Eventually, it was Preity Zinta who impressed the makers and bagged the part, marking her Telugu debut. The film went on to become a memorable romantic drama, and Preity’s performance was widely appreciated.
