As expected, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s The Goat Life is off to a thunderous start at the worldwide box office. This survival drama directed by Blessy had solid expectations right from the beginning and the advance bookings were also sensational. The original version received positive applause from critics and audience.

According to the makers, The Goat Life collected 16.71 crores gross on day one. The Goat Life set a record in the USA by becoming the highest opener among Malayalam films, minting around $114K. The Goat Life also took a bumper opening in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and the UAE. The occupancies are solid on day 2 as well (for the Malayalam version).

The long weekend and the positive word of mouth are working in favor of The Goat Life. Unlike Manjummel Boys, The Goat Life won’t have a free run for more days since a few noted Malayalam movies are arriving in two weeks. However, trade predicts that The Goat Life will be the next 100-crore grosser for Mollywood.
