Peddi is the latest cinematic outing of Tollywood star Ram Charan. Helmed by director Buchi Babu Sana, the high-budget rural sports drama features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead and had a phenomenal opening weekend, crossing the Rs. 300 crore gross mark globally.
On its fourth day, Peddi achieved a remarkable feat by entering an elite club of films that have secured a share of over Rs. 20 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on a single day. The only other movies to have achieved this milestone previously are Pushpa 2 and Kalki 2898 AD. For a movie that released on a Thursday, having Sunday outperform both Friday and Saturday is a clear indicator of strong word-of-mouth.
The box office performance of the film during the upcoming week is now being closely monitored by trade analysts. Sustaining this momentum is crucial for the project to maximise its earnings and set new theatrical records. Fortunately, with no major new releases scheduled for the week, the movie has a clear window to dominate, though audiences are keeping a close watch on whether ticket prices will be reduced.
Peddi boasts a stellar ensemble cast that includes Shiva Rajkumar, Divyenndu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu in crucial roles alongside the main leads. The movie is bankrolled by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner. Adding massive technical strength to the production, the legendary composer AR Rahman has scored the music for this rustic drama.
