Shaakuntalam, the PAN Indian flick starring Samantha, which was released in theatres last month, has bitten the dust. The poor execution and below-par VFX works are the key reasons behind the failure. Gunasekhar directed this mythological drama for which Dil Raju is the presenter and distributor. Even the ace producer stated that Shaakuntalam had been a rude jolt in his career.
The movie is now available to stream on the OTT platform Prime Video. The Samantha starrer, however, got a thunderous start on the digital platform, and it is currently trending at the second spot on Prime Video in India. The movie has managed to overtake Priyanka Chopra’s Citadel series and reached second place.
Mohan Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Jisshu Sengupta, Gautami, Madhoo, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Kabir Duhan Singh played key roles. Icon Star Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha played a cameo. Produced by Neelima Guna under the banner of Gunaa Team Works, the film has the tunes of Melody Brahma Mani Sharma.
