Upasana appointed as Zydus Director; Ram Charan is a proud hubby

Young entrepreneur Upasana Kamineni Konidela is making waves in the business world once again. Upasana has been appointed as the Independent Director by leading multinational pharmaceutical company Zydus Lifesciences Limited for her expertise in healthcare. With this appointment, Upasana has become one of the youngest independent directors of a publicly listed company.

Upasana’s appointment was recommended by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee due to her expertise especially in the areas of HR, CSR and IT. Upasana will be serving as an Independent Director for the first term of 5 consecutive years with effect from November 29, 2022.

Commenting on her appointment, Upasana said in a press statement, “I am looking forward to my association with an inclusive, customer-centric, dynamic global organisation. I’m optimistic that by pulling the right strategic levers, Zydus Lifesciences Limited will be able to continue to make meaningful differences in the life of consumers through quality healthcare solutions globally. As I take up this challenging yet exciting new role, we will carry on, in tune with the company’s vision of pursuing cutting-edge science for the benefit of society.”

Upasana also took to Twitter and shared her excitement. “Enjoying the journey as one of India’s youngest Independent Directors of a publicly listed company. It’s an opportunity to use my strengths and background to enhance healthcare globally with the awesome Zydus Lifesciences team,” (sic). And proud hubby Ram Charan, who’s busy with RRR’s Oscars campaign, congratulated his wife with red heart and kiss emojis.
