For the past few days, quite a few film stars, politicians, and people have been voicing out their support to the Save Nallamalla forests initiative. The initiative found a major support among environmentalists and youth, who questioned the Telangana government over the necessity of mining the forest area for uranium. Pawan Kalyan, Samantha, Vijay Devarakonda, Sekhar Kammula, and Nag Ashwin were some of the celebs who urged the state government to reconsider their decision.
Considering that the topic had become a burning issue in the state, KT Rama Rao got into action and informed the legislative council today that the TRS government won’t be supporting uranium mining in Nallamalla forest. The state government’s decision has been welcomed by everyone.
Vijay Devarakonda, in particular, lauded KTR for getting into action so quickly. “Power, responsibility, action. I love such leaders. Full love and respect KTR anna,” Vijay said, referring to KTR’s statement on the sensitive issue.
While the state government has announced that it is not in favour of uranium mining in Nallamalla forest, it remains to be seen how the centre is going to react to it.
