After 3 years, Rakshit Shetty is back with another movie, Charlie. The movie has hit screens today. Check out how the film is.

Story:

Dharma (Rakshit Shetty) is an emotionless person who leads the same life every day and has no one to love or care for. One day, a Labrador Charlie (Charlie) appears at his doorstep. During the process of getting rid of the dog, he emotionally connects to the dog. One day, he comes to know something worrying about Charlie. What happened next? What did Dharma do? What exactly happened with Charlie? To know the answers, you need to watch 777 Charlie on the big screen.

Plus Points:

Undoubtedly, Charlie is the frontrunner in making one watch the film. The story is simple and even predictable sometimes, but Charlie makes it beautiful with its lovely performance, especially in emotional scenes. Besides, Rakshit Shetty justifies his role. His transformation from an arrogant person to an emotional one is shown well in the movie.

Bobby Simha’s role is limited but his performance is so realistic and touching. Raj B Shetty and Sangeetha Sringeri give their best. The emotional scenes between Charlie and Rakshit Shetty worked out very well and everyone will connect to those scenes for sure.

Minus Points:

The story is nothing new. One can predict it easily but what makes the film watchable is the emotional bond between the leads. On the other hand, the lengthy runtime is a big minus to the film. The film is a bit laggy in the second half.

Sangeetha Sringeri’s character could have been better. She is limited to a few scenes. A few scenes in the latter half are illogical but passable.

Technical Aspects:

Director Kiranraj K succeeded in narrating a feel-good emotional story between a dog and a human. But, Kiranraj could have taken some more care in writing a crisp screenplay. The cinematography is good, especially in the climax. Nobin Paul makes many scenes elevate with his wonderful background score. Editing in the second half could have been better.

Verdict:

On the whole, 777 Charlie is an animal-based emotional drama that has its moments. This film is not for everyone and will instantly connect with those who love pets. Barring a few scenes in the second half, the movie is passable.
