Sammohanam has been raising eyebrows right from the day its trailer was released. Mohan Krishna Indraganti, who is known for making feel-good movies has picked up a sensible plot that revolves around the journey between a common man and a movie actress. Let us check whether the movie lives up to all its hype or not.

Story:

Vijay(Sudheer Babu) is a cartoon illustrator who hates the world of cinema, Following a few interesting turns of events, he meets Sameera(Aditi Rao Hydari) who is a star actress in the film industry.

The pair develops a liking for each other, but Sameera tries to distance herself from Vijay as she has her own set of problems. The remaining story is all about the emotions Vijay and Sameera go through and how a person who hates the film industry finds his better half in the very same field.

Plus Points:

Sammohanam has quite a few things going its way and the chemistry between the lead pair is the pick of the lot. Aditi and Sudheer have elevated the love track to a whole new level.

Sudheer Babu has matured a lot as an actor and did exceedingly well in the emotional episodes in the latter half. He looked settled and comfortable in his role and that came in handy during a sensible episode in the pre-interval episode.

Aditi Rao is an absolute delight to watch on screen. Her elegance, terrific screen presence, ease in acting and natural emotions add a certain level of depth and she deserves a round of applause and she could not have asked for a better debut in Tollywood. The supporting actors, Naresh and Pavithra Lokesh, are really good as hero’s parents and add a pleasant vibe to the proceedings.

The comedy episodes featuring Naresh have come out really well and offer a great deal of entertainment to the viewers. Rahul Rama Krishna and Abhay Bethiganti, as hero’s friends have done a great job in tickling the funny bones.

Minus Points:

The movie takes its own sweet time to enter the actual plot and that may put off the audience in the initial stages. Had the movie gotten off to a better start, the final output could have been crispier and engaging.

The director took a daring decision and went for lengthy episodes all through the movie. This narrative style may not go well with a section of audience who are used to a typical kind of screenplay.

The entertainment factor in the second half goes down a bit when compared to the first half. Serious narration takes the center stage and that slows down the tempo of the movie.

Technical aspects:

The director, Mohan Krishna Indraganti has opted for a very sensible love story and narrated it at his own pace. Not even a single scene looks rushed and the director deserves the credit for this. Sammmohanam will surely be one of the best works in his career.

The camera work is clap worthy as the rich locales of Manali have been captured brilliantly. A few love episodes have been taken a notch higher, thanks to some stunning work behind the lens from PG Vinda.

The production values of the movie are really good as every scene looks rich and vibrant. The music album runs with the narrative and songs have been executed well on screen.

Verdict:

On the whole, Sammohanam is a simple love story that has been showcased in an engaging manner. Beautiful emotions, sparkling chemistry between the lead pair are major assets. However, the classy narration and slow pace may not go well with a section of the audience. If you are okay with the above said things, this movie surely ends up an interesting watch for all those who like sensible love stories. Go for it.
