Super Star Rajinikanth’s high budget action family entertainer, Annaatthe, was stalled in December after 4 crew members tested positive for Novel Coronavirus while shooting at RFC in Hyderabad. A few days later, Rajini was hospitalized due to dehydration and high blood pressure levels, but he was discharged after a few days.

Rajini and Annaatthe’s team had flown back to Chennai in January, and reports emerged that the film’s shooting will resume in the second half of 2021, after the Tamil Nadu general elections. But the latest update is that Rajini will be resuming the shoot from March 15. However, whether the shooting will take place in Hyderabad or Chennai due to Rajini’s health is yet to be known.

Annaatthe also features Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh as the female leads. This Siva directorial is being produced under leading Kollywood production house Sun Pictures. The film is slated for a November 4th release, as a Diwali festive treat for fans.

Young Mega hero Vaishnav Tej has made a memorable debut with the recently released blockbuster romantic drama, Uppena. The film’s success has turned Vaishnav into a star overnight and several popular directors and producers are queuing up for his dates.

Meanwhile, Vaishnav Tej’s remuneration for his first three movies has become a hot topic in film circles. Apparently, the young hero had charged a cool Rs 50 lakh as his remuneration for Uppena. Even though Uppena was his debut film, the ‘Mega family’ brand had worked in Vaishnav’s favour and the makers didn’t think twice to shell out a fat paycheck.

And then, Vaishnav is rumoured to have signed his second film, tentatively titled Kondapolam, opposite Rakul Preet under Krish’s direction for Rs 75 lakhs. Finally, the latest buzz reveals that Vaishnav has charged a whopping Rs 2.50 crore as his remuneration for his third film that will be bankrolled by veteran producer BVSN Prasad. Well, it looks like the young hero surely knows how to make hay while the Sun shines.

Star heroine Samantha and passionate filmmaker Gunasekhar’s ambitious mythological magnum opus, Shaakuntalam, has been creating a decent buzz for the last couple of months. The film is being planned as a pan-India biggie.

According to the latest updates, Shaakuntalam’s first schedule will kick-start from March 15th. A giant set is being erected at a studio in Hyderabad for this crucial schedule. Young Tollywood actress Eesha Rebba and Malayalam hero Dev Mohan are said to have been roped in for key roles in this high budget epic.

Shaakuntalam is based on the epic tale of love from the Adi Parva of the epic Mahabharata. The film is based on Mahakavi Kalidas’ iconic drama, Abhigyana Shaakuntalam. A major portion of the film will be done using computer graphics.
