Yesterday, on the occasion of hero Rajashekar’s birthday, the makers of his 91st film, titled Shekhar, unveiled a powerful first look poster and a glimpse video. Rajashekar’s salt and pepper avatar in the poster created a solid buzz for the movie.

According to the latest reports, Rajashekar will be portraying the role of a police officer in Shekar. Rajashekar is popular for his cop roles and he even got the title ‘Angry Young Man’ for the power-packed cop roles he portrayed in the initial years of his career.

Shekar is being directed by debutant Lalith and the film’s regular shoot will kick-start from February 22. MLV Satyanarayana and Rajashekar’s daughters Shivani and Shivathmika are jointly bankrolling the movie. Anup Rubens is the music composer.

It’s well known that Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan will be acting in his second straight Telugu film, titled Lieutenant Ram. The film will be directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and produced jointly by Mahanati makers Swapna and Priyanka Dutt.

According to the latest reports, Lieutenant Ram’s makers have roped in the young Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur for a lead role. Mrunal is well known for the films like Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 and Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming Jersey remake.

The film’s shooting is expected to commence soon in Kashmir. Vishal Chandrasekhar will be composing the music. Stay tuned for further details.

Director Ram Gopal Varma has faced a huge setback yet again. The CBFC panel in Hyderabad has refused to certify his upcoming controversial film, Disha Encounter. The film is based on the sensational rape cum murder of a young doctor in Shamshabad that rattled the entire country in November, 2019.

The CBFC panel has reportedly told Disha Encounter’s makers that they will not pass the film as its subject is too sensitive. The makers have now approached the Revising Committee and are waiting its decision. Anand Chandra has directed the film under RGV’s supervision.

Natti Kranthi and Natti Karuna have bankrolled the movie. Srikanth Iyengar, Sonia and Praveen Raj donned the lead roles. The film is scheduled to hit screens on February 19, but it looks unlikely as of now.
