In a fitting tribute, the union government has announced that legendary playback singer SP Balasubramanyam will be honoured with Padma Vibhushan (posthumous), the country’s second highest civilian award. The government announced the list of Padma winners on the eve of India’s 72nd Republic Day.

Leaving millions of fans and music lovers heartbroken, SPB passed away at a Chennai hospital on September 25, after a two month long battle with COVID-19 related complications. His unexpected demise had united the entire country. Fans and noted celebs from the film and music industries are emotional at the moment, as Balu has been rightly chosen for the coveted award.

In a career spanning over 5 and a half decades, Balu had crooned over 40,000 songs in various Indian languages and even composed music for several films. He was also an accomplished actor and TV show host. SPB’s wife Savithri and other family members will be receiving the Padma honour on his behalf from the President of India later this year.

It’s well known that talented actress Rashmika Mandanna will soon be debuting in Bollywood with Siddharth Malhotra’s soon-to-commence spy thriller, Mission Majnu. Ahead of the film’s commencement, Rashmika has been camping in Mumbai for the last two weeks on a new mission.

Apparently, Rashmika is currently doing a workshop to perfect her Hindi. The Kodagu beauty plans to dub for herself in Hindi and she’s leaving no stone unturned to bring in perfection. Apart from Mission Majnu, Rashmika has also signed her second Bollywood film. Titled Deadly, the film also feature Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and veteran actress Neena Gupta.

Director Gopichand Malineni is back in the reckoning thanks to the massive success of his recent release, Krack. The film’s success has helped Gopichand Malineni get an offer to remake Krack in Bollywood.

Incidentally, Gopichand Malineni was supposed to make his Bollywood debut with the remake of his maiden film, Don Seenu. In fact, Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Shahid Kapoor evinced interest in acting in the remake. However, the project never materialized as Gopichand got busy with his next project in Tollywood.

Gopichand said either Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn or Ranveer Singh will be the perfect choice to reprise Ravi Teja in Krack’s Hindi remake. But before his Bollywood debut, Gopichand Malineni will direct Balakrishna in a high budget action drama produced under Mythri Movie Makers banner.
