Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi, which is slated for a Pongal release on January 10, is currently facing censorship issues after the CBFC demanded multiple cuts related to scenes depicting anti-Hindi agitations in Tamil Nadu. As the censor board suggested extensive cuts, the makers approached the Revising Committee (RC), and the matter is yet to be resolved.
Latest reports now suggest that Thalapathy Vijay’s farewell film, Jana Nayagan, is also facing a similar issue. It is said that the CBFC has demanded multiple cuts for Vijay’s film as well, and the team is yet to take a call on the matter.
Will the Jana Nayagan makers agree to the cuts suggested by the censor board, or will they move the Revising Committee? That remains to be seen. Interestingly, two major Pongal releases from Kollywood are going through a similar phase, leaving fans concerned.
