Another Festival Passes, Tollywood’s Big Films Stay Silent

Dussehra is over, but there was hardly any noise from the upcoming big-ticket entertainers. There are plenty of movies coming in the next few months, but the makers missed another chance to keep their films in discussion during the festival season. The same happened during Vinayaka Chavithi. It is déjà vu.

Be it Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka, Balakrishna’s Dada, Prabhas’ Spirit or Mahesh Babu’s Varanasi, none of them came up with even a basic poster wishing audiences on the festival. These may look like small things, but they help keep a movie in the news.

Tollywood has been missing a beat lately. Postponements, last-minute delays and a lack of promotional plans have become common. Even after seeing how these things affect films, the industry seems to be repeating the same mistakes.

Forget basic posters. Some movies that are just two months away from release have barely started their promotions. If this continues with the big-ticket films too, building hype at the last minute will become even more difficult. A film first needs to reach the audience, and only then can its content do the talking. When will Tollywood learn from these mistakes and get back on track?
