Tollywood is once again in a slump with a lack of prominent releases. The situation is so bad that several theatres are being shut down temporarily. All eyes are now on Dhanush and Sekhar Kammula’s social drama Kuberaa, which releases on June 20. The industry believes that the social drama can revive single screens.
King Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna play pivotal roles. Today, the makers launched the third single, Pippi Pippi Dum Dum Dum, at an event in Mumbai, which was graced by the main cast. When asked about his role, Dhanush replied, “I play a beggar. I did a lot of research and homework. I stood in the sun. All these are lies. I didn’t do anything.”
The National Award-winning actor added, “I just went to the shooting spot and followed what my director said. Sekhar sir was brilliant. He taught me nuances. He neatly told me what needs to be done, including the slang. He made life easy for me. Kuberaa is very special to me. It isn’t another film to me. I don’t come out often, but Kuberaa deserves to be promoted like this.”
