Jailer 2 is creating carnage at the box office in its original version. With this sequel, Rajinikanth is setting the box office on fire, and a latest behind-the-scenes revelation from Mirnaa Menon has stunned fans and movie lovers.
In an emotional scene in the second half, SJ Suryah presses Rajinikanth’s face against the ground with force. Mirnaa has now clarified what happened during the scene. Contrary to what many thought, it was not Rajinikanth’s body double but the superstar himself who was directly under Suryah’s feet.
“We were all worried about that scene, but Rajini sir was totally fine with it. He took around 12 takes to get the shot right,” she revealed. Although the team was not comfortable with Rajinikanth performing the scene himself, the star remained casual and even asked whether it had come out well. Mirnaa expressed surprise at how casually he handled the scene despite his stature.
Meanwhile, Jailer 2 is expected to cross Rs. 500 crore today if Monday’s collections are strong, with the advantage of the Dussehra holidays. Rajinikanth is also the only actor with three $5 million opening-weekend grossers. However, the film’s performance in the Telugu states has been fairly normal despite the positive talk. It remains to be seen whether the festive holidays will help improve its collections.
