Ramayana: Part One will release in cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026. The Indian epic stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi in key roles and is directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Now, the interesting part is that the movie will follow a pay-per-view model on JioHotstar after its theatrical run in India.
JioStar has officially announced the plan. Under this model, users will have to pay extra to watch the movie on OTT. It will not be available through a regular subscription alone. However, the makers are yet to reveal the price and OTT release date.
The main question is whether this model will help the makers earn more money. In India, pay-per-view has not received much response so far. Most users prefer watching movies included in their subscriptions rather than paying extra for one film. It remains to be seen how audiences respond to this model for Ramayana.
Produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash, the film has music by Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman. It is set to release in multiple languages. Advance bookings are now open for the theatrical release.
