Bollywood war-action film Border, directed by J. P. Dutta, is a cult classic as well as a box office blockbuster. Set during the India–Pakistan war of 1971, the film starred Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles. Cut to the present, the makers are now coming up with a sequel titled Border 2.
The second installment stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahaan Shetty in the lead roles. The film’s teaser was unveiled yesterday at an event, but it received a mixed response from netizens. While a section of viewers felt that the film brought back nostalgic vibes, others commented that the VFX work lacked the required finesse and needed an upgrade.
The initial response seems mixed, but with the sequel advantage, Border 2 can still open big and then it boils down to the content. The film also stars Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, and Ananya Singh, and is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026.
