Shakalaka Shankar has turned hero with the film Shambo Shankara which has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

The story of the film is based in a village called Ankalamma Palle. The village’s president(Ajay Ghosh) keeps torturing everyone leaving them very unhappy. Shankar(Shakalaka Shankar) is the only man who can stand the might of the president. But, he too finds it very hard to face the president most of the time. Rest of the story is as to how Shankar finally manages to find some courage and dethrones the president.

Plus Points :

Shakalaka Shankar as the main lead is impressive. He has lost weight and did all the homework well to perform as a hero. He danced well, did all the fights decently and also spoke a few mass dialogues with ease and did not look over the top.

The family emotional scenes in the film are good and have been executed well. The pre-interval sequence is impressive as Shankar’s performance is very good at this time. Heroine Karunya Chowdary looks decent and shared a good chemistry with Shankar.

Minus Points:

Director Sreedhar has designed Shankar’s character well but his narration lacks the punch. The screenplay goes for a toss in the second half as the proceedings remind you of many hit films in the past.

Tway hero transforms into a god many a time looks dragged and over the top. Also, Shankar’s over action during these scenes is horrible. Things become so easy for the hero in the second half as all the problems keep getting solved one after the other. One who expects fun from Shankar’s role will be disappointed as there is not much comedy generated from him.

Technical Aspects:

Music and background score by Sai Karthick is decent. Production values are good and the cameraman showcases Shankar and the film in a good light. Dialogues are decent and so was the village set up. Editing by Chota K Prasad is not up to the mark in the first half. Coming to the director Sreedhar, he has done a half-baked job. Except for the hero elevation scenes and some family emotions, his narration is quite disappointing and routine.

Verdict:

On the whole, Shambo Shankara falls short of expectations. The routine story line, same old hero-villain scenes, and uneven narration spoil the flow of the film completely. However, Shakalaka Shankar passes the test as a hero and this film can be given a shot only for his performance and nothing else.
