It’s turning out to be the season of web-series. After several actors and directors from Telugu cinema made their foray into this digital space, the Tamil film industry too is exploring web-series content.
Balaji Mohan, the director of ‘Love Failure’, was the first Tamil filmaker to make a web-series, and now, Gautham Menon too has shown interest in this trend. The acclaimed director has produced a web-series titled “Weekend Machan”, which narrates the story of four friends and their lives in Chennai.
Shammer Sultan has written and directed the web-series, and Gautham Menon unveiled the teaser earlier today. It certainly looks like Gautham Menon and his team are actively looking at engaging with the audience beyond films, and web-series is just one of the several avenues.
