Jailer 2, which is performing well in theatres, has become another super hit in Rajinikanth’s career. Nelson Dilipkumar has delivered another successful film, but its screenings at one Canadian theatre will stop from October 21, 2026.
York Cinemas in Canada has cancelled all screenings of Jailer 2 after the overseas distributors reportedly failed to provide the required digital security keys. Sun Pictures, the film’s production studio, withheld authorisation from the distributors, leaving the theatre unable to screen the movie despite having paid the required fees.
The issue has left fans unable to watch the film, while the theatre faces losses due to the cancelled shows. The makers are also missing out on box-office revenue, and the dispute could affect their relationship with exhibitors. It remains to be seen when the issue will be resolved and screenings can resume.
