Two Telugu films made their debut on the OTT platform Netflix last Friday. The films are a horror comedy, Raakaasa, and a sports drama, Biker. While Sangeeth Shobhan headlined Raakaasa, Biker stars Sharwanand. Interestingly, the two films were released in theatres on the same day and later premiered on OTT together as well, making it a rare coincidence.
However, their OTT reception has differed. Raakaasa has taken the number one position, while Biker has settled in second place. This report is based only on the first two days of streaming. By the end of the first week, it will be clearer which film gains more views and performs better in the non English charts.
The films received mixed reviews during their theatrical run and found their own audiences, though they did not fully satisfy everyone. With their arrival on OTT, it remains to be seen how well they connect with a wider audience across genres and languages, especially since both are available in multiple dubbed versions.
