While the KGF franchise gave Yash PAN-Indian stardom, Toxic has cemented his place among the biggest stars in the country. Initially, trade predicted an opening of around Rs. 20 crore nett for Toxic in Hindi, but following the film’s promotions and trailer, projections were revised to Rs. 40 crore, double the initial expectation.
Well, the Yash starrer has even surpassed the optimistic industry projections, opening around Rs. 55 crore nett in the Hindi belt. The opening is even bigger than that of the mighty KGF 2 (Rs. 53 crores nett), which was a sequel to a blockbuster film.
No South Indian hero’s non-sequel (standalone) film has opened this big in Hindi. With Toxic, Yash has made a commanding statement that he is here to stay and rule, giving tough competition to Allu Arjun and Prabhas. If the actor continues to choose good scripts, he can create wonders, undoubtedly.
