Lagadapati Sridhar has been producing some interesting films from quite some time now. He is back with a youthful love story titled Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini. On the eve of his birthday today, we caught up Sridhar for an exclusive interview. Let’s see what he has to say.
Q) You have completed ten years in the industry. How do you feel ?
It feels like I am on a vacation here. All these ten years have been thoroughly enjoyable and I have only made films which I completely believed in.
Q) Why do all your films have a social message ?
Yes ! I make it a point to give something back to the society and make sure that my films should touch everyone with its message.
Q) What made you choose Sudheer Babu for Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini ?
Sudheer Babu is a real life hero too. He was a national level badminton champion who decided to make it big in films and worked so hard to achieve it. He was a perfect choice for this story and has given a mind blowing performance. He will surely be in the top ten heroes list after this film.
Q) What are the highlights of this movie ?
The lead pair’s chemistry and the way love is showcased with a lot reality and grit will be the highlight. The film will definitely connect with today’s youth because of its inspiring story line.
Q) Why was this film delayed ?
Initially, we planned to release the film on February 14th. Then, the world cup started and once the final output was ready, I was not happy with the re-recording. I decided to take some time off and got things worked out in a proper way.
Q) Your past few films have been remakes. Any particular reason ?
The first few films in my banner were completely original films. As time passed by, I happened to like some other language films which I decided to remake later.
Q) Tell us about Nanditha’s role in the film ?
She plays Sudheer’s love interest and has a very powerful role. Her chemistry with Sudheer is superb and has come out exceptionally well. In fact, after watching the preview her mother personally thanked me for giving her daughter such a wonderful role.
Q) You are a businessman yourself. How easy is it for someone to make films who has a lot of money ?
The notion that anyone who has money can make a film is completely wrong. One needs to have the passion and love towards cinema and be ready to take the responsibility of the success and failure of the film. Right from the word go, you need to have complete knowledge about the story of the film.
Q) When will you make a big budget flick ?
I do not believe in making this unnecessary big budget flicks. All my films should have a soul and if the scripts demands, then only I will make a big budget flick.
Q) What are your future projects ?
I am planning to remake this film in Hindi and impress the Bollywood audience.
