Music Review : Gayatri – A decent album

The complete audio album of senior hero Mohan Babu’s comeback film, Gayatri, is now available in stores. The film’s music has been composed by SS Thaman. Let’s see how this album turns out to be.

Song 1: Jai Hanuman

Analysis: This is the first song in the audio album. Written by Suddala Ashok Teja, Jai Hanuman is a typical worship song in praise of Lord Hanuman. Ace singer Shankar Mahadevan has sung this song and brought a lot of depth with his vocals. It’s an inspirational song, well blended with lyrics that glorify our culture. Audiences may find the song even more appealing onscreen.

Song 2: Thella Thella

Analysis: Noted lyricist Ramajogayya Sastri has written lyrics for Thella Thella song and Madhu Balakrishna has sung it. The song elevates hero Mohan Babu’s character. This seems to be a montage song and the lyrics give a hint about the mood of the film.

Song 3: Oka Nuvvu Oka Nenu

Analysis:  Oka Nuvvu Oka Nenu is a soothing melody sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Jubin Nautiyal. Ramajogayya Sastri has penned lyrics for this adorable song. Shreya Ghoshal’s magical voice shines in this song, making it an instant hit.

Song 4: Vekuvammaa

Analysis:Vekuvammaa is written by Suddala Ashok Teja and veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam croons it. This appears to be yet another montage song picturized on Mohan Babu. The song explains the beauty of life and the happiness in it. SPB’s impeccable voice is an added advantage to this song, which has some meaningful lyrics.

Song 5: Sarasamaha

Analysis: Sarasamaha is a mass masala special number sung by Ramya Behara. Ramajogayya Sastri has penned beautiful lyrics for this romantic song. Sarasamaha will appeal to the masses.

Song 6 : Ravana Brahma

Analysis: Ravana Brahma is the last song in the audio album, which is sung by Mano and has its lyrics written by Samudrala. The song reveals the evil side of Gayatri Patel, played by Mohan Babu, and features some powerful lyrics. Mano’s loud rendition is apt for the intensity in the number.

Verdict:-

Gayatri has all kind of songs, right from the worship song to a sizzling special number. Jai Hanuman, Oka Nuvvu Oka Nenu and Thella Thella are our picks of the album. Ravana Brahma may look more effective on the screen and Sarasamaha is a special number which is composed in vintage style. On the whole, Thaman has done a decent job with the songs and they may appeal even better onscreen.
