Music Review : Rabhasa – Decent Album

When any NTR film is on the cards, there is a huge curiosity amongst his fans. Rabhasa is his latest offering, which is directed by Santosh Srinivas. S S Thaman scores music for this film, and the audio was launched yesterday. Let’s now see how the whole album is.

Song 1: Maar Salam

Analysis:- The album starts off with NTR’s introduction song Maar Salaam. High on a patriotic feel, Thaman goes easy with this song and makes sure it has enough beats for NTR to showcase his dancing skills. The hook up line Zor Se Bol is quite catchy, but what makes the song click are the meaningful lyrics which have a lot of pride.

Song 2: Rakasi Rakasi

Analysis:-The second song in the album is Rakasi Rakasi. Sung by NTR himself, this is perhaps the best song of the album. Even though NTR’s voice has been tweaked technically, it sounds super fun and the chorus nicely ups the mood of the song. Lyrics are contemporary, and the music arrangement is quite catchy. A definite chart buster.

 Song 3: Garam Garam Chilaka

Analysis:- Third song of the album is Garam Garam Chilaka, which is a typical mass number. There is nothing new in terms of music as Thaman uses his same old music arrangements for this number. Aimed solely at the masses, once

Song 4: Hawa Hawa

Analysis:- Moving on, the fourth song is the romantic Hawa Hawa which has a soothing tune. The Hindi lyrics are nicely blended with the soulful voices of Karthik and Megha in a contemporary way. This song showcases the romantic angle of the lead pair, and is definitely a winner.

Song 5: Dum Dhamare

Analysis:- Last song in the album is the family song Dum Dhamare. This song showcases the festivity mood in the film, and has nothing new in terms of music. In fact, this song instantly reminds you of Thaman’s many old songs from his previous flicks. Songs like these will be more fun, once you watch them on screen.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Thaman plays it safe with Rabhasa, and gives a mixed bag of songs. Right from romance, fun and massy numbers, this album has it all. Rakasi Rakasi, Maar Salam and Hawa Hawa are sure shot hits and our picks. Finally, Rabhasa’s music album sounds decent and will definitely grow on you, once you watch them visually.
