Former minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader Jupally Krishna Rao on Tuesday demanded that the state government release 125 TMC water to lift irrigation projects in Kalwakurthy, Palamuru, Nettampadu to meet the drinking and irrigation water needs in the Mahbubnagar district.

Talking to media persons, Jupally Krishna Rao said that the government should issue a notification in this regard before the Election Commission announces poll schedule for by-elections in the seven Assembly segments in the Telangana region.

Slamming the government for its failure to provide water to 30 acres from Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme, he stated that he would withdraw from the poll scene if Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Telangana Ministers make complete efforts for release of water for lift irrigation projects. He warned the government of serious consequences if it fails to release water for the irrigation projects.

“The people of the region will teach a fitting lesson to Telangana Ministers in ensuing by-elections in the region,” he said. (INN)
