Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Tuesday seriously condemned the incidents of Amalapuram wherein some statues of Dr B R Ambedkar were desecrated by some unidentified persons.

Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa assured that the State Government would take stern action against the culprits. He appealed the people in the State, especially those living in and around Amalapuram, to maintain peace and harmony.

The PCC chief said that the Congress party will also seek an explanation from Amalapuram MP Harsha Kumar for making some comments against in-charge of State Congress Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Botsa also criticised TDP’s deputy floor leader Gali Muddukrishnamma Naidu for his remarks against the Congress Coordination Committee. He said the opposition parties might criticise the government, but it was completely unfair on the part of TDP leader to comment on a political party’s committee using unparliamentary language. He advised Gali to restrain from making derogatory comments against the ruling party and its leaders.

The PCC president also condemned cine actor Nandamuri Balakrishna who criticised Chiranjeevi’s PRP merger with the Congress party. He said before making any comments against Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna should look into his past. He wondered how Balakrishna could work under the leadership of N Chandrababu Naidu who backstabbed party’s founder and his father NT Rama Rao. He said unlike TDP, the Congress is not a family party.

Botsa informed that he would be touring Miryalguda on Wednesday where he would be attending several programmes. (INN)
