Assembly pays tributes to Rajeshwar Reddy

The Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly on Thursday paid rich tributes to Mahbubnagar MLA S Rajeshwar Reddy who passed away on October 30 due to cardiac arrest.

Moving the condolence motion on the first day of winter session of legislative assembly, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy lauded the services rendered by Rajeshwar Reddy in serving the people of his constituency. He said that Rajeshwar Reddy was instrumental in taking up several developmental works in Mahbubnagar district.

Opposition Leader N Chandrababu Naidu described Rajeshwar Reddy as the people’s man who used to work relentlessly till their problems are solved. He expressed grief over his untimely death.

Paying homage to Rajeshwar Reddy, Information and Public Relations Minister DK Aruna said that his services for the common man, especially the poor and downtrodden, were unforgettable. Praja Rajyam Party floor leader Chiranjeevi said that he was hurt over the untimely death of Rajeshwar Reddy.

MLAs R Chandrasekhar (TDP), Chiranjeevi (PRP), Etela Rajender (TRS), Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri (MIM), G Mallesh (CPI), M Lakshmi Narayana (BJP), Jayaprakash Narayan (Lok Satta) and Ranga Reddy (CPM) also paid rich tributes to Rajeshwar Reddy.

Rajeshwar Reddy died of cardiac arrest on October 30. He was 55. He was survived by wife and a daughter. He was the BJP district president from 2000 to 2004. He was municipal councillor from 2005-2009. In 2009, he joined the Praja Rajyam Party but failed to secure a ticket. However, he got elected from the Mahabubnagar constituency as an independent. Later, he joined the Congress party as an associate member.

The House adopted a unanimous resolution paying tributes to the services rendered by Rajeshwar Reddy. (INN)
